The most urgent and pressing threat that supersedes all others in our state and nation is the invasion of anti-American rhetoric and communist ideology. The communist party in America posed as “democrats” have done anything they can, legal or not, to control our government, our election process, and the American people. We MUST fight back to keep America free.
In the words of President Ronald Reagan: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected and handed on for them to do the same…”
America gave me and my family our freedom. I will fight hard to protect our freedom!
Every American Freedom and Constitutional Right, given to us by God, is under attack by the Communist Left. They have used the Covid-19 pandemic to destroy small businesses, “lock” us in our homes, clamp down on free speech and religious freedom and on our right to choose our own medical care.
These attacks have had adverse effects for millions, especially our children, causing us to live divided, in fear of each other and creating 2nd class citizens of the unmasked, unvaccinated and those of dissenting opinions and beliefs. It eerily reminds us of the Jews of 1930s Germany and Cuban citizens still, like my family who were persecuted because we dreamed of freedom and dared to leave Cuba. This is not America!
I personally experienced Castro’s communist tyranny, and for that reason I will fight the monstrous dictatorship we are experiencing here in America.
The Second Amendment clearly states: … the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. This Amendment was originally created to give citizens the opportunity to fight back against a tyrannical federal government. It is impossible to fully implement socialism with an armed populace.
Left-wing politicians are aggressively working to prevent lawful citizens from protecting themselves. I often tell people if Cuba had a Second Amendment, they would celebrate the same freedom that we do.
I am a strong defender of the Second Amendment!
Veterans are the backbone of our freedom. Without them, American values collapse. We need to fulfill our commitment to America’s Veterans. I will always stand with our veterans and will work tirelessly to preserve and improve the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
In the example of Florida’s Governor, Ron DeSantis, I would introduce legislation requiring our schools to teach accurate US History and to cover the evils of communism and totalitarian ideologies. We must put God and our Pledge of Allegiance back in our schools, and get Critical Race Theory (CRT) out! How can our young Americans defend our country if they are not taught allegiance to it? We’ve got to take our schools back.
Because I homeschooled for 15 years, I understand the need for and I am a strong supporter of school vouchers.
I will work hard to keep the federal government out of state and local decisions regarding our schools, returning control of education to parents and local officials – ultimately, doing away with the Federal Department of Education.
District 7 is a unique and diverse area where the Grand Strand meets rural South Carolina. This balance of tourism and farming is a delicate one. Rural South Carolina is a forgotten gem in dire need of federal funds. Darlington, Timmonsville, Bennettsville, Society Hill, Dillion, and the list goes on, are small towns in our district that need help with infrastructure and economic development. But in order to benefit existing businesses and to attract new industries, we must produce and provide qualified, skilled laborers. That’s where charter schools and transportation to our technical colleges come into play.
According to US News article, Fastest-Growing Places in the U.S. in 2021-2022, Myrtle Beach came in first! But with a rapid population growth a unique set of issues are ushered in. The Grand Strand needs rehabilitation and upgrades of local roads to make them more functional. With population increase, crime also increases. I am a one-hundred percent supporter of our police. I will assist law enforcement agencies in obtaining federal grants to hire more police, train and equip them, and construct new facilities to make Horry County and all of District 7 safe.
Why I support and signed the Convention of States petition. Convention of States, COS, is first and foremost a movement of grassroots citizens who are fed up with business as usual in D.C. It is funded by thousands of everyday patriots who have committed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to protecting liberty for future generations. Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives states the power to call a Convention of States to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed. COS would only allow the states to discuss amendments that, “limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and place term limits on federal officials.”
We also have a broken campaign finance system that strongly favors incumbents and just as strongly encourages unfair and often unethical campaign financing. In addition to term limits, we can dramatically shorten the duration of typical campaigns and stop the never-ending campaign cycle that favors the wealthy.
I’m a strong believer in balancing the federal budget and slowing the rate at which we are increasing our national debt. Uncontrolled congressional spending has created a $28 Trillion national debt that our children and grandchildren will have to pay and that will soon cripple our country. I will work hard to require Congress to pass balanced budgets and control spending.
A big part of the problem is the way politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle view and “sell” us on their pet programs. We have become numb to the truth, to the facts! As a successful business owner, I understand the danger and risks of reckless spending and long-term debt. The question is: Would we approve of all these Federal spending programs if we understood what a “billion” really amounts to? So here it is!
